“Manage your homework”

We may be in the height of summer, but soon the shops will be full of new school uniform and shiny shoes. So what better way to prepare than by getting yourself or your child organised with this helpful homework calendar? It's a basic set-up. First fill in a weekly homework timetable, which can be adjusted as priorities change. Then fill in how much time you should be devoting to each subject, when exams are coming-up and of course when you can have a rest.

It's a very clear interface but it can feel as though there are too many steps and too much jumping around to get started. A simple calendar, drop-down subject list, and time option would suffice. And an alarm or reminder feature for exams might be helpful. Also my trial crashed once when I was filling in my Tuesday timetable. So there are some good things here but the report card shows signs for improvement.

The Palm OS application "Schoolwork" allows a student to easily keep track of all of his/her homework, marks and timetable. The very clear interface makes it easy to use the program. Once you're used to Schoolwork, you simply don't want to go to school without it!

Schoolwork features:

You can enter an infinite amount of homework items. You can enter homework very fase by choosing a date, selecting the hour on your timetable and fill in the homework.
You can view the homework on three different periods: per day, per week and per month.
You can enter your marks per subject, with a weight (example: a test counts 1 time, an exam 5 times) term and description. The average mark will be calculated without any trouble, and will be rounded off to one decimal.
You can list all your marks for a subject in a summary.
You can easily view your report, on which all your averages are listed, per period (1, 2, 3, 4 and year average).
You can enter your timetable very easy: you choose a subject, the teacher will be placed automatically, and finally you enter the room.
You can view your timetable per day or per week!
You can make and import CSV-backups of your homework and marks.
